Hike - Mount Audubon

Distance - 8.0 mi round trip
Elevation Gain - 2750 ft
Difficulty - Moderate
Time - 5 Hours 45 Minutes
Description - This is a hike up Mount Audubon. The hike starts near Brainard Lake at the Beaver Creek Trailhead. The hike is 8 miles round trip and about 2750 ft elevation gain. It took us about 5 hours and 45 minutes. It was a really nice hike and the weather was perfect. The temperature was a nice 58° F when we started and was nice and cool most of the hike. It was a bit hard to follow the trail near the top of the mountain as it seems that people have gone every which way up, but all paths seem to lead to the top.

Hike - Katahdin - Hunt Trail

Distance - 9.7 mi round trip
Elevation Gain - 4200 ft
Difficulty - Hard
Time - 9 Hours
Description - We spent a couple of nights camping in Baxter state park where we hiked the Appalachian trail to the top of Mt Katahdin. This was a long hike with a lot of elevation gain. The middle park of the hike was climbing up over boulders which was really fun, but was difficult going up and down. We hiked up through a fog which was cool, but mad some of the scrambling sketchy. After this hike we just lounged for the rest of the day in camp to recuperate.

Hike - Estes Cone

Distance - 6.4 mi round trip
Elevation Gain - 1500 ft
Difficulty - Moderate
Time - 4 Hours
Description - This is a hike up Estes Cone. You start at the Long's Peak trailhead. The hike was 6.4 miles round trip and an elevation gain of around 1500 ft. The weather was cool to start (48 °F) and got a little cooler as we went up the cone. It got windy at the top and started to snow. While we were at the top it lightened up and we began to have some great views into Rocky Mountain National Park. The hike was really fun with a rewarding summit. On the way back down the weather warmed up quite a bit. It was 56°F when we finished.
