Hike - Flagstaff Trail

Distance - 3.0 mi round trip
Elevation Gain - 1100 ft
Difficulty - Easy to Moderate (short but good elevation gain)
Time - 2:15 (30 minutes wandering around the summit)
Description - This is a short hike up Flagstaff that starts just on the north edge of Chautauqua Park in Boulder. The trail crosses the road about 6 times before you get to the top. There were great views back toward Boulder and the plains. The best view of Boulder was from the Plains Overlook which is a short off shoot from the Flagstaff trail near the top. The morning we went, there was a wedding about to begin in the Amphitheater which is a wonderful spot at the top. We saw a Black Squirrel and a lizard on the trail.

Nice lizard. The pics take me back - I had to hike up to the amphitheater for this freaky torchy "rite-of-passage" type ceremony when I was a freshman. Now I'm going to have nightmares about it again...thanks.
